I did an Exchange Server 2016 to 2019 migration.
Both the Exchange Server 2016 and 2019 is currently in production.
I added the new Exchange-Server-2019 in the send connector.
I have added Exchange-Server-2019 in the Firewall and in the DNS Server.
However, if the Exchange-Server-2019 is added in the send connector, I get a bounced back error message when sending to an external email address.
"Your message couldn't be delivered and there was no valid enhanced status code being issued by the remote mail system to determine the exact cause, status: '550 Relay not permitted'."
Diagnostic information for administrators:
Generating server: Exchange-Server-2019

mail.domain.com
Remote Server returned '550 Relay not permitted'
I recreated the Send Connector and only added Exchange-Server-2019, still the same issue.

Receiving Emails not addressed to me
Hi Spiceworks,
For the last week or so, I have been getting emails from a number of different staff that have not been sent to me. They have not been CCed or BCCed to me either. I've done a message trace and I can see that the email is being sent to the intended recipient but it is also being sent to myself.
This is happening at least 30 plus times a day and it appears to be random. I've not been able to find a pattern to it.
I've check Exchange, Exchange Online (We run hybrid) and out email filtering appliance (Sophos) for any rules, policies or settings but I've come up empty handed.
Does anyone have any thoughts at all on what this might be?

Single user unable to search 'Online Archive' from Outlook
Hello Folks :)
We've got a single user that's unable to search their online archive via Outlook (Microsoft 365 Enterprise, On-Prem Exchange 2016, single server). I've verified the search is able to work via OWA, but even after rebuilding the users local mail profile the 'Online Archive' is not searchable - 'Something went wrong' error comes up, and repeating the search locally returns no results.
Here's what I've tried so far:
- Rebuilding indexes on local computer
- Rebuilding indexes on all the exchange databases and letting them rebuild over the weekend (all report 'Healthy' for content index status before testing again)
- Wiping out the local mail profile and rebuilding
- Tried multiple connector types when adding account to Outlook - Exchange Activesync & MS 365 - tried both in 'cached' and 'un-cached' modes

Exchange 2016, Can't add accounts in Outlook

I recently did a migration from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2016 on a new server. Everything seemed to go really well and I decommissioned the old Exchange 2013. Now 2 months later I added a new email account and when I try to setup Outlook 2016 on a machine, it will not add the account. It finds the account on step 1 but then it searches for settings and never finds it. I also tried a different machine running Outlook 2013 to manually add the account. When I specify the server and click check name, it says name can't be resolved. I can login to OWA under her account without issue. I tried creating a new Outlook profile for established users and same issue. Existing profiles work fine in Outlook. I can't add new ones. Outlook will not connect after updates
Kind of at the end of my rope with this one...
Updated our Office 2016 install last week Tuesday on our VDI install. On Wednesday, all was well. On Thursday, I many several staff members start complaining that they couldn't open Outlook. When they tried, they got this error:
Opening Outlook with /safe or /resetnavpane makes no difference.
On our VDI pools, we use Outlook in online mode, so no PSTs, and initially, they do not have a profile. The reg key for ZeroExchangeConfig is set so Outlook normally just creates the profile and moves on. Our physical devices, with this patch installed do not seem to be affected.
We do use Profile Unity, but it didn't make a difference whether that was active or not. Imprivata was also eliminated.

Exchange database wont mount
So I was getting rid of some log files as our log disk had filled up. I dismounted the database and deleted the log files like I always have but when I went back to remount the database I get this error

Best Practice? Multiple Mailboxes/Adresses for one user.

we have 2 companies running here. Some of our employees are working for both, but the IT Department is one for both companies. Also the server infrastructure is one. We are running Exchange 2016 on premise. Every AD user got his own mailbox, some shared mailboxes, public folders, etc.
We are thinking about a solution for the employees which are working for both companies. They want to receive and send mails from their company domain.
I added the new domain and mail address for the 2nd company to Exchange and the user, everything works fine for receiving mails. But sending Mails from the 2nd domain is a nightmare. I want to upgrade my Exchange 2016 CU10 to CU16 latest one, OS is 2016 Server Std. Last time i tried but the update failed and it left my AD and Exchange server in an invalid mode so in the last i restored it from backup.

Dynamic Distribution Group help (Exchange 2013)
We have several Dynamic Distribution Groups that were created a long time ago. When I run:

I have one user that likes to not use the reply all feature when it is needed for communication amongst a group of people. Or he likes to go around people by replying directly/forwarding the message. I have been tasked by my superior to find a solution and force a reply all on this user. I have looked all around and have found some information but it does not work as expected.

Hi All,
I'm looking at migrating exchange 2010 over to exchange 2016,
I have installed Exchange 2016 CU12 (I believe) and can see exchange 2010 in the server exchange admin centre,
Before migrating all mailboxes across to the new exchange 2016server, the guild I was following said create a new user and test to make sure everything was working fine,
Createda new user and opened the mailbox on the webmail, which works fine, sent an email to an external email account, which is working fine,
The problem is that the new mailbox, I don't seem to be able to send an internal email to users on the exchange 2010, and I also don't seem to be able to receive any emails either to the new user I have created on the exchange 2016 mailbox,
when I send an email internal i get the following error:

i have DC windows server 2012R2, and its already running in my environment.
and i try to install Exchange 2019 on windows 2012R2. but it give error, it say unsupported operating system. i forgot to check the requirement exchange 2019.
i already finished Prepare Active Directory and domains for my Exchange.
now i want to know if i can rebuilt my exchange 2019 with windows 2019, do i need to running Active Directory schema. or i must first delete old exchange data from AD?
because i dont want to lose all my DC setup.

MSExchange 2016 not receiving or sending mail
Hi, the problem I have today is that no one is able to receive or sent out emails within and outside the network. I have done basic troubleshooting and found that everything is okay, the mail server is running well no error on the events same with the edge server. All users are able to access there mails but just can't successfully receive or send. Kindly assist with the quickest possible solution. Thanks.

Accidentally Deleted Exchange (2016) Back End site from IIS
Hi Guys,
So, as the title says, I accidentally deleted the 'Exchange Back End' site from IIS. This has of course now rendered the Exchange server pretty useless. None of the MMCs for it work and it doesn't connect to the Exchange Management Shell.
Of course, I don't have a back up of the server as I wasn't expecting this to happen so no I can't restore from that.
Is there anyway of recreating the site and the subfolders etc within IIS. I'm not even sure of the physical location of each folder to check that the data itself hasn't been deleted.
I attempted to install the CU17 after this had happened hoping it would also run a 'repair' and put back anything that was missing, however this failed the installation I can only assume because the IIS site was not present.
Any help right about now would be great.

Replacing legacy Exchange 2010 hybrid with Exchange 2016 hybrid
I am trying to replace an Exchange 2010 server on-premise with a new Exchange 2016 server that will be setup in hybrid only mode, as we have migrated all of our mailboxes to Office 365 one year ago. Basically the 2010 server is consuming a ton of storage space on our SAN that I need to recapture for other uses.
