How to prevent sending to locked down Distribution List by using Meeting button?

This is an Exchange 2016 on-prem standalone server and using Outlook 2016.

Distribution lists are locked down to specific senders by adding them to the "delivery management" list.
However, when one of those authorized users sends an email to the group, any group member can open the email, click the "Meeting" button, and use that to send calendar invites out to the locked down group members!!
They DO receive the “You don’t have permission…” message, and they do receive the bounceback once it is sent. Regardless, all group members receive the calendar invite and are able to accept the meeting.

I can reproduce this with other DLs.

Please tell me if you have any ideas about how to stop this, I'm running dry at this point and it needs to be disabled.

Exchange 2016 server clients randomly asked for password

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem that bugs me for weeks and I couldn`t find an answer to it.

I have 1 Exchange 2016 Server that runs on Windows 2016 Server

Everything looks good, clients connect fine but randomly they are asked to input the password, they try to input the password which is not accepted in any form or shape of the username, but if you click cancel and then in outlook bottom right corner where it says "Needs password" if you click on it it connects to exchange and works perfectly fine.

The behaviour is very random, it can`t be predicted, it can run fine for a full day or it can ask you 3 times in 5 minutes, I couldn`t establish a pattern on the behaviour, clients are running Outlook 2016 upwards.

Feel free to suggest anything, at this point I`ll try anything.

PS: I actually rebuild the domain controller and the exchange server,...

Error while disabling the arbitration mailbox in Exchange 2013?

Hi Everyone,

Im having this attached error while disabling the arbitration mailbox as part of the decommissioning steps for this Exchange 2013 server. With this, we cannot proceed removing the mailbox databases. I tried running these below commands then running that disable arbitration command again but same result. How do we move forward with this?

Get-Mailbox | Set-Mailbox -ModerationEnabled $false
Get-DistributionGroup | Set-DistributionGroup -ModerationEnabled $false
Get-DynamicDistributionGroup | Set-DynamicDistributionGroup -ModerationEnabled $false

Side question, will it work if we will just unmount the mailbox databases or they are required to be removed with "Get-MailboxDatabase | Remove-MailboxDatabase" command? Please advise.

Unable to Manage Add-in on Premises

Ther error message I receive is There was a problem loading your options. Please try again.

I am able to manage add-ins under a test account and other employees but for one employee who is high up in the organization, I am not able to access the URL to manage her add-ins.

I have tried multiple fixes.

1. I tried accessing the add-ins using the ECP.
2. I tried multiple browsers.
3. I' ve tried other systems
4. I've tried using the mailbox servers OWA url instead of the default organization
5. I've updated Office, they have office apps through O365.
6. I tried forcing the add-in using Enable-App in PowerShell.
7. I checked the information in this article related to the arbitration mailboxes.
8. I have looked at the attributes in AD for a user that works and my VP user and I've not found any red flags.

Hey,

I have a user mailbox that has EOA enabled with the license assigned to them. I recently converted their mailbox to a shared mailbox and checked that the Archive mailbox is still enabled and accessible, which it is.

I need to remove the EOA license but I can't find any information about what happens to an Archive mailbox after removing the license.

Does anyone know?

Redirect Email FROM a domain to a specific user

In Exchange 2010 I need to redirect ALL incoming email from sampledomain.com to user@mycompany.com.

What I have done is great a hub transport rule 'When the sender's properties contain specific words' and set those words for 'Email:@mycompany.com'  -- this doesn't seem to be working.

Any suggestions would be helpful. 🙂

Distribution group members not receiving emails

I have a distribution group that I have recently added 2 users to. Both of these users are not receiving any emails sent to the specific group. I have checked the message tracking logs and the delivery report shows all the other users but those 2. I have also created a new DG with those users in and they don't receive any emails to that one either.

Does EAC Spam Filter control Outlook Junk Folder?

If you add email addresses In the O365 EAC Spam Filter does this also stop emails going into the Outlook Junk Folder as well or will users still potentially have to mark senders as Not Junk in Outlook as well?

A mailbox is missing from Exchange Admin Center in hybrid exchange environment.

A bit of background. We have a hybrid exchange environment, and our AD syncs with Azure AD and Office 365. We have an AD user who appears in both AD and Office 365, is licensed, who has their own mailbox. The user can use their mailbox with no issues. The mailbox is, however, missing from our Exchange Admin Center... It just ain't there.

Any tips on how to get this resolved? I can provide more information, I just need to know what the relevant information might be.

Exchange Public Folder - List all attendees for upcoming meetings

Exchange 2010. I suppose the answer would likely also apply with later versions.

For any given public folder calendar, I need to compile a list of upcoming meetings as well as the organizers and attendees for these meetings.These users will need to be notified that I am moving their meetings to another calendar, since they will likely receive dozens of cancellations and new meeting requests. I don't want to just hit them with these notifications without some forewarning.
This would have been dealt with later when we migrate to MS365, but there is an immediate need to migrate a particular building's meetings to proper resource mailboxes for compatibility with digital signage software. Exchange 2016 Transport Rule to Use Send Connector

I have a client that uses on premise Exchange 2016 and Barracuda services. By default they encrypt emails that has certain content that fails within HIPAA rules. There are times they want to send email that will bypass the default encrypt rule.

They used to bypass the rule by putting something like "noencrypt" in the subject or body. Barracuda would see this and not put the item through their encryption. Barracuda made a change and it no longer works, and surprise! They said it mever works to begin with which is wrong but I digress.
So I was trying to setup an Exchange transport rule that looks for "noencrypt" in the message and then will use a custom send connector, just an Internet send connector that uses DNS to send instead of going through Barracuda. I don't see an options to use a send connector when creating a transport rule....

Unhealthy Exchange 2013 after internal cert renewal

After renewing the Exchange self-signed certificate, my Exchange 2013 on-prem server shows unhealthy health sets.Mail flow is working, emails are being sent and received but there are some services that are degraded .


I am also unable to run Compliance Management in ECP.The following error occurs


Event log is showing two errors repeating themselves:

Migrate from onprem exchange 16 to office 365

We have an on prem exchange server 2016, which is also our DC.

We also have a second DC(back up, set to replicate)

I was thinking to do a hybrid migration and then adconnect our second DC to Office 365 and ultimately decommissioning the old exchange server.

We have about 300 users.

Will this method help us move all mailboxes , public folders, rules, and policies to office 365 i.e. exchange online and then completely removing the old exchange while keeping DC2 connect/synchronized with office 365?

Would you recommend it or is there a better approach ?

We also have to plan on putting up barracuda in front of office 365.

Hi guys and girls.

I have an issue that I cant get figured out.

One of our clients requested a couple of new addresses on their exchange for new members of their teams. We purchased the licenses and I set up the accounts the way I normally do.

But when I test them, I get this:

    1. Reported error: 550 5.0.350 Remote server returned an error - 550 no mailbox by that name is currently available
I get it for all 8 accounts I set up, and i've been getting it for the last several days now. I've tried deleting and recreating the accounts, as well as troubleshooting i found on a couple of MS forums. They arent exactly the same as the error Im getting but i tried anyway. I also didnt see anything wrong with the headers.

Exchange 2019 Stopped Sending Email

Something weird happened to my Exchange 2019. All of a sudden it stopped sending out internal and external email. I haven't done anything to the Exchange box. It just stopped. I am using a smart host to send out emails. I called them, they verified everything is fine on their end. What I don't understand is why it stopped sending external and internal emails. I checked the send connector which looked fine. I recreated it just to make sure. I also checked SSL and re-issued it just in case. I checked the DNS settings, all look good. I am not sure what I am missing. Can anyone shine some light on this?

I can understand how to get mailbox retention policy using powers hell command, get-mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Select Name, Retetionpolicy.

But can we sent item, inbox or deleted item retention policy details?

Just wondering if I need to do anything different as I'm paranoid I'll break the connection!

I am trying to setup DKIM for a custom domain in 365; however, when I add the custom CNAME records I am still unable to enable the feature in the EAC for EOL. First picture is from 365 admin center and second is from EAC. Any suggestions?

Outlook set line preview length gpo/reg entry
