Exchange Online - Mailflow - email restriction message

Has anyone updated exchange online default message that has been sent out when an email is rejected?

"Your message wasn't delivered due to an e-mail rule restriction created by the recipient's organization e-mail administrator. Please contact the recipient or the recipient's e-mail administrator to remove the restriction. "

Is there a way to amend the above?

Exchange - Public Folder - Slow contacts folder

Hello,

I'm just sorting our Public Folders and we have a contacts folder which has lot of items: more than 16.000 contacts.

With the time, it becomes slower and slower and when we create a new contact, there is a delay (let's say 2 min) before the contact is available in the the folder.

Is it normal? Is there a way to improve this folder behavior?

Moreover, is there a way to manipulate the contact items directly in PowerShell on the EMS (like Public Folders)? Or in EWS?

I am working on setting these up, if I have an On Premise Exchange Server, where am I setting these up.

Is it where I host my Website and where the DNS is configured.

Or do I set them up on my Exchange server.

Its a little fuzzy at the moment.

I am running Exchange 2013 on Server 2012R2.

Our IP address was blacklisted last week. We have an on prem Exchange server.

One of the blacklist gave a reason for the listing of a possible “botnet behavioral activities coming from the IP address”.

Anyone know how I can troubleshoot this?

New exchange certificate

Hi,

I installed a new certificate in our exchange server and converted the internal url's to match the the certificate. exactly as per @Adam_(AJ Tek) guide. I can do a nslookup and it returns the correct IP (internally and externally). Since then I get intermittently this error when running exchange commands in the shell, and the only way to bypass it is to launch a new shell.

Any help and pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Exchange Preventing or Documenting Users Editing Emails

So in Outlook people can user either the edit function or VBA (in rules) to edit emails (I am sure other methods as well) inside exchange and when they save these emails, that is the copy that is stored on the server.

Is there any way to either prevent this or track this? The reason is legal reasons, to know that if we get a legal request for an email that the email is true and not been altered. I know litigation hold but it is not feasible to put everyone on litigation hold.

Is the only option a third party with journal processing or?

Thanks!

Exchange 2010 to O365 migration multi-domain question

Hi,

I'm looking to migrate our on-premises Exchange 2010 to Office 365. However we have a bit of a weird setup. At the moment I'm looking to make sure we have a certificate that does everything necessary.

The issue is this: the domain email addresses use is school.county.sch.ukwhile we have an externally accessible OWA website domain for accessing emails online calledmail.school.net.

At the moment only theschool.net domain is secured through a wildcard certificate (the school.netdomain is used for multiple websites the school has; not just for mail). We have bought a UCC now specifically for the Office 365 migration and I'm thinking the easiest thing to do is replace all services on Exchange to be covered by this new certificate (which will cover both the domains).

I'm just wondering if this could cause any complications. I'd also greatly...

For any enterprise, connectivity and communication are of high importance. As a renowned name in the IT arena, Microsoft’s Exchange has remained a leading choice for businesses looking for a complete messaging platform.

There are two versions of MS Exchange solutions — hosted and cloud — and many organizations struggle to come to a conclusion about which version to opt for. The key reason is a lack of understanding of Exchange Online vs. On-Premises. In this article, we will contrast the main features offered by each version and highlight the benefits of Exchange online vs. on-premises to help you make an informed decision.

Knowing your Requirements
MS Exchange is a tried-and-tested service which is used by a range of organizations across a number of industries. However, it is important to note that every company is unique. Before...

Unable to find freebusy public folder Need to resolve

We are in the planning stage to move to Exchange 2016. Currently we are on Exchange 2010. Seems when we moved from Exchange 2003 to 2010 some years ago the Public Folder was not migrated correctly and is no longer available. Currently in the event viewer we see event id 14031

Unable to find freebusy public folder: EX:/O=domain/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP on the server: server.domain.com for the user: domainuser:bda947db-0396-4167-92cb-46782e2ade8e:b9ae22b7-1970-406f-9878-297ea5b850a8:server.domain.com with legacy DN: /o=domain/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=user

I see this for different users. It does not cause any issues. Before we move to 2016 Exchange, does anyone believe this will pose a problem on the new server and needs corrected before the move? At this point in my research I cannot find a consistent single...

Bot Spamming Exchange 2016 with Usernames - Event ID 4625

Repeated Event ID 4625 on my Exchange 2016 server. The thousands of hits per day contain various usernames that our organization does not have in AD. We currently have the default receive connectors set up as can be seen here. Also, the server Outlook Anywhere settings have the "authentication method for external clients" set to Negotiate. Employees access email through OWA, Android/IOS email clients, and Outlook versions ranging from 2010 to latest version.

Below is an example from the error log. I've removed the domain and server names. Yes, the workstation it listed was the server, though I assume that's because the attempts are being made directly through an available service/open port from the internet.

ActiveSync Unavailable for Internal Devices

We're running an Exchange 2013 DAG with a NetScaler load balancing. A couple of months ago, I installed the most recent cumulative updates on both servers. After the update, email wasn't updating on my phone. I decided to nuke and recreate the ActiveSync virtual directory. It has both internal and external url configured, but isn't accessible when connected to the internal network. Any ideas on what to do to try to fix this?

Track who has added a mailbox in outlook (Exchange2010)

Hey all,

I was wondering if it is possible to track who has added multiple mailaccounts in their Outlook.

Let's say we want to decrease the amount of people who have access to fullin@mail.com.
Is there a way to check this without manually open every pc and check their Outlook? I know we can just change the password and then enter it on the pc's we want it to be on. But before doing this and getting a flood on people asking about this accurance I wanted to ask you if you know of a way of accomplishing this without them knowing?

Exchange Calendar event mystery caper

I have a client that claims that a meeting on their shared MS Exchange calendar was incorrectly cancelled. No one is fessing up to the deed, and the notice of cancellation was not received by all attendees.

So.. now we have mutual finger pointing - akin to the great gun pointing scene from "True Romance".  Several staff members are pissed off, and they are asking me to get it sorted.

This is a hosted Exchange situation, so I do not have direct access to the server. Is there any way to get some sort of audit trail?

Does anyone know of way to prevent one user from sending emails during a specified time period? Let's say from 7pm to 8am? We are using Outlook 2016 and Exchange 2013.

A solid backup solution for Exchange 2010 DAG (Physical Boxes)?

We've used NetVault Backups for the last 6 years, but to keep this short, we can no longer get good backups of our DAG DBs. It's been well over a month of back and forth with their team we're not getting anywhere. Management has had enough and I need a solution I can put in place fast. Any favorites? I've heard good things about Veeam, but don't know which product to use since we have physical boxes and not VMs.

Thanks in advance!
