Spoofed Email

Help - I have a client that until later this year still is using SBS 2011 with exchange server 2010.

All have been fine , but for the last couple months he is getting email from 3 of our domains email accounts : His Paul, Info , and one other. Our Office gal has all 3 of these in her outlook 2016 mail , so I am sure it started with Her Desk.

I have tryed all I know ( Little as that is with Exchange ) so please help.

Here is a Header of one of the emails " sent to Paul, and from Paul"

i am using exchange hybrid environment i.e Exchange2016 CU11, i have onprem DL and an office365 user wants to send email as Send on Behalf. Will these feature work, if so please help me with the syntax.

Resource mailbox for room that can be devided

Hi everyone,

I have a unique situation.  I need to somehow address a room resource in Outlook that can be used as 2 different rooms or one large room.  Therefore I would like if I can have 3 rooms listed in the address book room a, room b, and room ab.  I need a solution that if someone tries to reserve the room as a whole but one of the smaller rooms is booked the invitation is declined.  Does any one know if this can be done?

I know that I could just have 2 rooms in the address book and make a paper policy requesting that if they need a room as a whole just to request both rooms.

Appriver Email Delivery Delayed to Exchange 2013

I know there's an old locked thread about this issue but I was hoping to get a fresh pair of eyes before I change providers. I'm having the same exact issue mentioned in the other thread, but for me it's A LOT more than one or two messages. On a good day I might get 2 or 3, but most days I'm getting 20 or more delivery delayed/resumed messages. This of course has caused major headaches with my users as pretty much all mail to any domain outside the organization is heavily delayed.

The response from Appriver support resulted in the following error message:

SMTP-699373(mail.domain.net:25) read failed. Error Code=connection reset by peer

I'm not sure what to make of this error and I haven't been able to find much information about it. We've been an Appriver customer for over 5 years and it's only been maybe the last year or two that...

Exchange 2010 Relay Report?

How can I get a human-readable list of SMTP mail relayed through the send connector?

(I don't mean an Exchange log file listing every transaction.)

Just a list of senders from the last 90 days (IP address and from address of sender).

Is there a built-in report or short PowerShell command that will give this list?

Guide for configuring Exchange Online Archiving with on-premise exchange 2013

Morning all!

I manage an Exchange 2013 on-premise environment and we are looking at provisioning email archiving. My thoughts were to go with Exchange Online Archiving and enable Hybrid mode on exchange. I wanted to set this up for a test user to see how well it works;

I'm trying to find a good guide online to take me through the configuration steps to get it working, does anyone know a good resource, which provides step by step instructions for the above setup?

This is something I haven't done before and i'm worried about affecting our on-premise environment and causing downtime for our email services.

Any help would be much appreciated

New Exhcange Server 2016 CU11 on premise, no hybred, no office 365, using self signed certificate, some outgoing email addresses being bounced back with the following error message:

Remote Server returned '550 5.1.10 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipientNotFound; Recipient not found by SMTP address lookup'

Powershell Script to Set Out Of Office for Exchange 2016 user

Hello, I'm looking for a script, that I will be able to to connect to the exchange management shell, then set the needed out of office. I'm able to do this manually now, but I'd like if the script auto-connected to the exchange server. And I will be able to just modify the .ps1 file with the Email\OOO depending on the user.

Email Audit - Exchange 2010 - Last Activity?

Hi all! I am trying to find out if there is a way to get a list of all email accounts and the date of the last activity on the account (sent or received emails) on Exchange 2010. I have done a little research, but have been unable to find what I need. The purpose is to find out what email address I need to keep and which ones I can disable. Thanks!

SystemMailbox

Hi,

I am in the process of migrating user mailboxes on Exchange 2010, I only have 19.8GB free on the drive (less than 8%) where the .edb is hosted, however we are currently using all 5 databases within our Exchange 2010 license.

I want to delete the database that I have migrated mailboxes from, however there is one mailbox still listed when I run the get-mailboxstatistics cmd.

Is it possible to move this too? I'm not sure what significance this has.


Once I've free up this database and removed it from Exchange then I will create a new edb on a new virtual hard disk and look to migrate staff user mailboxes to this and increase mailbox sizes. Is there any recommendation in terms of what virtual hard disk size should be when hosting a single .edb?

Any help would be appreciated.

Logging Folder

Hi experts

I am having issue with disk space, below folders are occupying space,
is it possible to keep one day log files of Mapi,Eas,Ews,Owa and delete all logs.(Please refer the below path) Will it impact my server or services.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\HttpProxy\Mapi
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\HttpProxy\Eas
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\HttpProxy\Ews
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\HttpProxy\Owa

can i delete the temp files under the below path
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Temp

What is hprest.log and hpsut_service.log, the two files under hpsut folder in the below path are occupying 20GB
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\hpsut.

Giving Send As permission to a Distribution Group

Hey there!

We have Exchange 2016 Hybrid setup. I was tasked to give one user send as permission to one of our distribution groups. I followed the instructions from this how-to:

I know the how-to was for Exchange 2010 but I thought to give this a shot and it didnt work. So basically go to the distribution group's security tab, give the user send as permission and uncheck everything else. I get this bounce back: " This message could not be sent. You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user."

Obviously the user doesnt have the send on behalf because I gave the user send as. Has anybod encountered this?

Outlook disconnects then reconnects itself

Hello Spiceheads,

Exchange 2016 CU11 single server and Outlook 2016 here.

For only 2 users, Outlook disconnects from the server and after a few minutes reconnects itself. Restarting Outlook or rebooting the computer does not change anything. Now error in the Application Event Log on the server.

I suspect it has something to do with the number of mailboxes they have opened because both users have many secondary mailboxes. 

I try changing the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\Maximum Allowed Sessions Per User" to 64 but it does not help.

Any ideas ?

importing ssl certificate into Exchange 2016

Can someone give me some insight on how to import an ssl certificate into Exchange 2016?  We have imported the same certificate into several other servers without any issues.  Used Go Daddy's SSL certificate guide to complete the import but all we get is errors.

Exchange IIS redirect issue

Hi All,

Kind of a weird one...

Exchange 2010 OWA redirecting all http requests to the https virtual directory for OWA. It was working fine until recently when we had one user complain about it. Already tried disabling / re-enabling the setting, rebooting, restarting IIS, checking the config file in WWW root etc without any success in fixing the issue. The setting is currently applied and still won't redirect. Anyone else ever run into this issue?

Hi there, I need to export to a pst a search with a specific date range, multiple to: fields and multiple message body terms for a legal entity. For a few inboxes.

Im already connected to the O365 tenant, Does the admin account need full permissions on each box? 

What is the correct syntax for a date range of 1-1-2011 to 1-1-2019 @microsoft.com @contoso.com with america, or canada, or mexico in the body? something like that.

Exchange 2016 Content index folders not re-creating

Hi,

I have followed multiple procedures that go;

  • stop search services
  • remove guid folder in the exchange DB folder
  • restart the search services.

I have completed this, but the search index folders are not getting re-created.

Get-MailboxDatabase | Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus shows contentindexstate as failed (expected)

Any help appreciated.
