I am in the process of migrating from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016. All the prerequisites have been done and Exchange 2016 is installed. I have set the internal and external urls in 2016 and installed an SSL. I am finding now that owa on the 2010 server no longer works and gives me this error:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Exchange.Services' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I have enabled the assembly load trace and provided it here:

Hi experts

Anyone aware of an automated way to bulk transfer mailbox items from one Office 365 mailbox to another in another tenant?
I have 20 users who need their existing mailbox content transferred to a new mailbox that exists in a separate office 365 tenant.
I have been doing them by export to .pst and import from .pst within Outlook bu this is proving extremely tedious and time consuming.
Hi all,
We are about to setup DR site in case of disaster recovery & I would like to have some suggestion from all members.
Currently, we are running standalone farm (no DAG) with 3 servers: 2 mailbox server & 1 server with no mailbox acting as CAS
There are 2 options that we were thinking to do
1. Setup Edge Transport server on DMZ, moving CAS server to DMZ for webmail access. Then, open all necessary ports to inside (AD traffic & exchange traffic). In case of disaster, we will do Vmware site recovery & failover to DR our Mailboxes on the inside, CAS on DMZ. The only concern with this is corruption. If any corruption occur during failover, we will be in trouble.
2. Setup a DAG at production & setup DAG at DR. Then, let DAG replicate copy over to DR. When it comes to disaster, we just use the bound model for user to access email
Option 2 is...
I am hoping someone can help me here.
I have been asked to import a lot (like 500-600) pager email addresses as Contacts into our Exchange 2013 environment.
That is easy and I have no issue with that.
What I want to do is exclude the pagers email addresses from the Global Address Book. I don't want to hide them from all address lists as I want to create a separate address list for the Pagers OU (which I have already done).
I create a new global address book with the command:
new-globaladdresslist -recipientfilter {recipientcontainer -ne 'domain.com/Pagers'} -name GALTEST2
set-globaladdresslist "GALTEST2"
I still see the pagers in the GAL both on my Outlook client (2016 in online mode" as well as OWA.
What am I missing here? All help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
So sorry if this has already been asked....
We have an email account that several users have access to. They all seem to have full access right now, but we want to limit a particular person's access to "view only". I've googled and tried what I found, but nothing has worked as yet. Once again, we want this person to be able to see the inbox and calendar, but not be able to delete emails and/or appointments.
We are runninng Exchange 2016, if that helps address this.
Thanks in advance!
Hi
Some background, we push all our internal Exchange Server 2010 mails via our hosting company using a "Smart Host" send connector as we do not have a business static IP to send out our own email just yet as the world will blacklist the dynamic IP.
Our domain/mail hosting company recently upgraded their Plesk software to the latest version. Since then, our Exchange Server 2010 SP3 setup with a Smart Host on port 587 (SMTP) with Basic Authentication can no longer send out emails and is getting the error #553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1) ##.
If I try setup a email account in Outlook from the hosting company, I get the same error as above until I tick the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication / Use same settings as my incoming mail server". How do I go about doing the same in Exchange...
Hey everyone.
Few months ago few users in our company received emails where the sender was shown as someone from our company, but the email was clear phishing/malware attempt (one such email demanded our accounting to transfer money to some foreign bank account) and not send by the user at all.
Investigating the email header, it shown that the email was sent from some different place (not our IP address).
We use Exchange Online (Office 365 Business) and only our single IP address is set as permitted to send emails. However it seems this doesn't prevent such emails from going forward and I had to set up a rule that looks at the header, specifically the SPF part. Currently, I have this set up:
"Header „Authentication-Results“ contains „'spf=permerror' or 'Received-SPF: SoftFail' or 'spf=softfail' or 'spf=none' or 'Received-SPF: Fail' or...
Hi everyone
I have been looking around and cannot seem to be able to find anyone who has had the same issue as me. I am currently using Exchange 2016, and I have setup Journaling so that all messages sent and received in my company are meant to be recorded in an archive email account I have created.
Now my trouble is, for some reason the emails from only one account are being recorded in the archive mail account.
I have set the journal address of my database, and created a journal rule under compliance management for all messages to be archived to that email address, however nothing is coming through except for one users emails, even recreating the rule for one specific user(another user), it is not being copied to the mail address.
Anyone have any ideas why this would be happening?
Thanks,
I inherited this organization and im in need of assistance, i have lots of things done, backups, folder security and load balancing done on the network, however i have the exchange 2010 server bouncing back only to some users, for example a user outside the company send them an email and it bounces back with "X-SendGrid-QueueID: 67993566
X-SendGrid-Sender: <bounces+5473840-5e81-user=domain.com@sendgrid.net
Arrival-Date: 2018-10-02 17-14-26
Final-Recipient: rfc822; user@domain.com
Original-Recipient: rfc822; user@domain.com
Action: failed
Status: 550
Diagnostic-Code: 550 permanent failure for one or more recipients (user@domain.com:blocked)"
its only happening to 3 users, and it happens with different accounts sending in.
We are exporting some of our user mailboxes to PST through the EAC for a hybrid O365 migration but the pst's are getting SIGNIFICANTLY larger than what EAC says that the Mailbox Usage size is.
For example we have a mailbox that EAC says is 17GB but the exported pst (which we started exporting 2 days ago) is now in excess of 48GB! The export is still going so we are unable to copy-paste the pst to try and open it to see what could be inside it.
Anyone else have this problem? What is wrong?
I am trying to export my root certificate from my Exchange server. I have found it in the MMC under personal certificates, however the "Yes, export the private key is grayed out"
Can someone tell me how I can get this done. I need to send the certificate to AW.
Thanks
We migrated to Office 365 at the beginning of the year. At that time we were running on-prem Exchange 2010 and Azure AD Connect. After the migration of all mailboxes, groups, etc I decommissioned the Exchange 2010 server, uninstalled Azure AD Connect, and disabled sync in Office 365. Everything was cool except for having to manage users/passwords/etc in two different places and I really don't care for the password restrictions in O365 (MFA isn't an option for us) so I decided to re setup Azure AD Connect and install Exchange 2016 in hybrid mode.
I did that, ran the Hybrid Configuration Wizard, and everything seemed to be working fine. I can add/remove users and change passwords through Active Directory Users and Computers and the changes replicate to O365. The issue now is that I've recently added 2 new users and assigned them O365...
Hi,
Hybrid Configuration. I have about 20 users who I need to clean their mailboxes remotely.
Can someone help me with powershell commands for exchange online to do the following:
1. Empty Deleted Items - Specific users
2. Delete emails older than 3 months - Specific Users
I have looked around and there are so many, not sure what actually will work.
Thanks.
Hi experts i am using exchange server 2016, i have meeting rooms, is there anyway to pull report for meeting room usage i.e in last 3 months how many users have blocked meeting room, meetings duration i.e meeting room statistic
I'm currently virtualising an Exchange 2013 server and can't find anything particularly convincing regarding drive and virtual-disk configuration. With a conventional physical server you'd have the db and log diles on separate physical volumes for maximum potential recoverability in the event of a failure.
But what is the best practise in a virtual environement? Separating them out in to virtual-disks certainly creates a level of convenience, but if those virtual disks are situated on the same logical physical drive - then is convenience and tidiness all the benefits that arrangement offers?
Or is it better practise to - as well as creating separate virtual disks - also to locate them on separate logical physical volumes for maximum recoverability?
Or is the separation now all but pointless in a virtual environment?
At the moment I'm...
Hi all,
A while ago I posted about this issue here: Original Post about the problems we are having with public folders outside of the office. Basically moving emails from a users mailbox into a public folder is taking a long time and causing Outlook to freeze when the user is out of the office / connected via VPN / in our satilite office. We orginally suspected that it was due to the internet connection at our main office where our Exchange server is hosted. But after upgrading the line to a new 50Mb leased line we havent seen any improvements.
I know alot of people do not like public folders but for they are suited for our current requirements and we are not looking to change this, but I do need some help incase I have missed anything when trying to improve the performance.
The users are all on Windows 10 running Outlook 2013 or 2016...
We did some updates to our Exchange 2013 Server, which caused the inability to Search Items in Current Folders in a Resource Room. I have searched many threads and tried all the "fixes" I could find and nothing is resolving the Search function. I'm thinking of converting the Resource to a Regular User mailbox would fix this issue.
My question is: Has anyone tried converting a Resource to Regular Mailbox successfully?
If I were to convert the Resource Room to a "Regular" Mailbox is there a chance of losing email messages or folder structure during this process?
Below are a few links I'm reviewing and going to try on a TEST Mailbox:
Hello,
Been having random problems lately with various users when in cached mode, some appointments are not showing up in Outlook but do show up when they logged into OWA. Once I turn cache mode off within Outlook, the appointments are there. I don't wan to disable cached mode. Is this an issue on the Exchange server or individual Outlook profiles? My environment is running Exchange 2010 on premise, users are running Outlook 2013. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,
