Exchange Queued for Delivery

$

We have a user that released a quarantined email from our spam filter but never received it. I've verified with our spam filter that the email was sent on to our Exchange server and is queued for delivery. Is there somewhere in the Exchange tools that I can see if it did make it to the Exchange server and figure out why it's not being sent on? We're running Exchange 2016.

exchange 2013 event viewer says databases in dirty shutdown state

I have two exchange 2013 servers running in DAG group.

email is up and working.

looking through event viewer, found this:

Instance 1: Database headers have been successfully validated. All databases are in a dirty shutdown state. To bring these databases to a clean shutdown state, log generations 8605532 (0x00834f5c) to 8605635 (0x00834fc3) will be required.

yet - I have daily report that runs on my exchange server, that shows everything fine, database healthy on backup exchange, and mounted on primary, nothing in copy queue or replay queue.

is it possible to have a false positive on dirty shutdown error?

Exchange migration Question - Authoritative Domain

$

Hello SW,

A while back we changed our primary email domain. We still accept mail from the old domain but the new domain was also added as an "accepted domain" and never listed as the "authoritative" domain. Our email address policy in Exchange calls for the new ".com" to be the default "send as" address and the primary SMTP for all the mailboxes. My question is will changing the ".com" to be the new authoritative mail domain effect users in Outlook at all if their primary SMTP is the new ".com" anyway?

issue with New-Remote Mailbox user creation in Hybrid Exchange

Hi all,

Odd issue I've been dealing with that is sending me crazy. here is our config:

E3 Subscription
Exchange 2010 Hybrid
ADSync with AADConnect
User mailboxes hosted on 365 Exchange

When creating a new user we are using the New-RemoteMailbox method. This creates the user mailbox on 365, creates the user on our local AD, then syncs the ADs.

User creation part works fine. Remote mailbox is created fine. The problem is with the aliases and routing address. When the remote mailbox is created, it makes the correct routing address - username@company.mail.onmicrosoft.com and correct alias - username@company.com. But when the user appears in 365, it only has username@companyname.com

However eventually the username@company.onmicrosoft.com shows up

If I make a user in AD and sync it, create a mailbox locally...

Exchange 2016 Hybrid - emails sent from O365 user not arriving

Hi all,

I just ran through the Exchange Hybrid configuration wizard yesterday as we want to move some user to O365.

I am currently running through my testing and have found that the user who's mailbox exists in O365 can receive email (both from internal and external email addresses) but they cannot send to either internal or external addresses.

I dont get any non delivery reports or anything like that, the emails just fail to arrive at the recipients mailbox.

I am presuming this is a send connector issue but I am struggling to find the information I need.  Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Hi all,

I was wondering whats best practice for creating meeting rooms in Exchange 2010 / Outlook 2013, I managed to create the mailbox as "Room Mailbox" and the room is visible under "Rooms" in "Calendar" but currently only I can see the rooms on my own Outlook, how can I set it up so the rooms appear for all users on domain without having to manually share?

Thank you for your time.

Exchange 2016 CU 10 OWA credential pop up

Hi all,

After update Exchange 2016 to CU 10 last weekend we're experiencing some strange behavior.

We are currently in coexistence with Exchange 2010.

1. Instead of the normal login screen for OWA we get following credential pop-up. Sometimes logging using the pop up works in one browser and not in another one and vice versa.

or

2. Some users report that they are also receiving an error message after logging in. This also not all the time and happens sporadically.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thx.

Duplicating Recurring Event

We have a meeting event in someone's calendar that keeps reoccurring.

It is populating itself about 1300 times during every occurrence. When we delete it and try to create another event, the event comes back.

Has anyone come across this before? I just learned that this popped up when the person tried to create another event in a new iPhone.

This is using Outlook 2016 on MacOS, as well as Mail.app on iOS and also shows up in OWA.

Thanks.

Outlook/Exchange- email attachments coming through as ATT.***

Hello,

We have several Outlook/Exhange users who we cannot receive email attachments (.doc .xlsx, .pdf) from. When the recipient gets the email, the attachments only come through as ATT.*** attachments. All other users can send/receive attachments to each other with no issues. I've researched the ATT.*** type attachment issue and I cannot find any solution so far. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Is it possible to change the GAL name in exchange without changing the name in A

$

Hi guys, I've been having a look at doing this and all the stuff I have found has been about changing the username in AD and waiting for it to replicate.

I have a user who uses an account attached to a machine (ex. machine account), he is the only person that uses this account and it has an email address (joe.bloggs@work.com). When he sends an email his name comes up as Machine Name rather that Joe Bloggs.

For reasons I need to keep the AD name the same, but change the Exchange display name.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Exchange account does not connect to email on mobile device

Hello all,

Thought I would pose this issue here before contacting MS. I have a user who is not able to connect her email account on her mobile phone or any mobile phones. I've reset her password and attempted to connect her email to my phone and same issue, "Could not connect to server". Also tried on an android device and again same issue.

Turned wifi off and same issue.

The issue is not with mobile devices, but with her account somehow not connecting to our exchange server. We have a hybrid environment and her exchange account is on 2013. However, her account was previously on 2010 and same issue as before.

I've checked her account but am not seeing anything that is out of the ordinary. The issue has to be with her exchange account as we have tried this on different multiple devices.

Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Exhange 2003 to Exchange 2016 email migration

$

Hi All

At long last I am able to migrate to new serves and software! had to be done!

All has gone quite well but I need to move users mailboxes to the new system. Does anyone know of a easy piece of software to do this job? I have tried one piece of software which converts Exchange to PST then re-imports back, it works but is painfully slow e.g I tried with my mailbox which is tidy and has 3.5k of emails 200 odd contacts and a few calendar events total size 140mb but it took 15 mins to export to PST. if I extend that out to include all users around 60/70 and a size of 45gb its going to take many days to complete and I cant have the users down for that long,

old configuration is a single server with SBS2003 and new configuration is a new domain controller using 2016 and a separate Exchange server 2016

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Exchange Srv Networking Down - URGENT!

Customer has a Win2008 SP1 Exchange server that has been broken (36 hours) since time was changed on the AD server. It is running on Hyper-V, and the networking icon comes up with red X and shows media disconnected with ipconfig. But the machine can still ping the gateway, and ping externally, so the core TCPIP layer is still working. Launching Net & Sharing center will lockup or show no available adapters, but the NIC does show in the device manager. And ping to other other network resources.

When rebooting with Safe Mode with Networking, the everything looks fine (no Red x), and the connection shows in Net & Sharing Center. But this is not helpful, as no Exchange services are started.

Looking at the Services list (in Normal mode), many core MSFT "automatic" services are not started and will not start when attempted.

Can't Open Exchange 2010 Management Console

I've been able to open it in the past but something happened in the last two weeks where I'm getting an error now. I can open the shell but not the console. I've tried two different computers with the same results. Other administrators are able to access the shell and console just fine. It's just something with my account specifically.

Distribution list - Rules applying to group and members

$

Let’s say we have a group called distro@contoso.com with several Active Directory users in it. The reply to is the distro name. The problem is that Outlook rules are not just checking the sender address, but it’s checking the list of members. So, if I create an outlook rule to filter my daily reports from distro@contoso.com, then it’s filtering all emails from any member of that group as well. So, emails from myself and to myself are getting filtered into that folder. People in the company will set outlook rules to filter their email and that will inadvertently filter any messages they get from anyone else on our distro. Most of what I have read suggest client side changes that won’t work for people who aren’t aware of a problem. What other suggestions or ideas do you have?

How to Remove Exchange 2013 Cluster after Office 365 Migration

$

Hello,
I have two Exchange 2013 in a cluster. The AD is Windows 2016 AD with ADSync enabled and running on it. These Exchange servers just sit there and consume power without doing anything.

What is the safest way to:
1. Properly remove these two Exchange 2013 cluster?
2. Keep AD users intact
3. Keep ADSync working and happy with all attributes like SMTPProxy attribute so we dont impact Office 365 users?

I remember there was a difference between removing a mailbox and disabling it. I believe I did the mistake once of removing the mailbox and the AD user account... :)

I would like to make sure this is running safe without impacting Office 365 or removing any AD accounts?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
