Hi everyone. Is there a way that i can check to see who deleted something out of a shared mailbox on exchange 2010? I know there is a mailbox audit logging feature on exchange 2010 but sadly, its disabled by default and was never enabled. Are there any ways around this?
How to see who deleted an email from a shared
Unable to relay NDR
Hello everyone,
I am currently having an issue with random NDR's from Outlook. We are using Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010. Random emails are being bounced back with 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay. When we use OWA the message gets sent out. I have cleared the auto-complete list in Outlook and that did not solve the issue. Everything I have found about this issue has to do with the client not using an exchange server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

external email is down
So my external email is down. I created a new exchange server(2010) last week, moved everyone over to it. Everything was working fine, then I took down the old email server, changed the new email server's IP to the IP of the old server and now external email does not work.
We use a spam service and when I try to test connectivity from them, I get a message of host failed to return an smtp 220 service ready response code, host response code 421
any ideas?
New public IP address - Email, web server,
Hi guys,
I support a small office of about 100 users. We run a small virtual environment and host our own on-premises Exchange server and Web Server.
We are in the process of upgrading our internet connection from a 100mpbs line on a 100mbps bearer to 200mbps on 1gbps bearer. I've been told by our ISP that since we are getting a new bearer, we will be getting a new block of static IP addresses.
Since we still host our own internal mail server and web server, we will need to update our public MX and A records accordingly. My question is, is there a way we could pre configure the MX record with the new IP address in advance so as to minimize downtime on our email when we come to install our new ISP provided router?
ie. Can I configure a second MX record with the new IP address before it is live so that when we make the switch, the first MX...

Phones can't get email
So I set up a new exchange server (2010) over the weekend and finally after a lot of hiccups, we are sending and receiving email, however there is always a but. The but is that phones can send and receive emails while they are inside the office on wireless, but when they are remote they cannot connect. To me this feels like a firewall problem, however I only changed 2 firewall rules, and in both cases all I did was change the IP for the email server. So I am decently positive that it's not the firewall. Is there something I should be looking for in exchange?
Outlook unable to read free/busy of one person only
[Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2013 on premise]
I haveauserwith the strangest thing in Outlook. When making a meeting, she can see everyone's free/busy except for one other person in scheduling asst. view. (gets the "\\\\\\\\" bar with 'unable to retrieve info'as well as 'you don't have permission' pop-ups when you hover over it.
HOWEVER, she can open that person's calendar & view all entries in calendar view. She can also see live feedback in the 'to' field of emails (& Lync.).
Everyone else can see them both as normal.
I have tried (twice each in case 1 sets off another):
- /cleanfreebusy switch
- with & without cache
- Confirmed that user 2's calendar shows freebusy as default.
- Tried on another PC so it's not a client setting/corrupt cache/etc.
- Re-confirmed/allowed autodiscover
- Deleted autocomplete & recreated from address book.
What the ???? & Why is...
Impossible Task
Hey Everyone!
Let's just say I can't go into details as to why I must do this task, but I've been tasked with it anyways...
I currently have two Exchange servers (2013) in a DAG with a witness server. I need to have the ability to fail over, in the event that the VMware cluster these Exchange server reside in, goes down. Easy, I know, my problem is, I need to have this up and running by Friday.
So here's where my heads at and want someone to either tell me I'm crazy, or that this may just work...
I have a point to point (1Gb) from the main VMware cluster to a remote site. I have a small VMware cluster we use as a lab (fully licensed the same as the main cluster). Would I be insane to fire up a couple of domain controllers (these two clusters live in the same site in AD), move my one of my exchange servers, the witness server, and a load...
Outlook 2016 Cannot Connect to Exchange 2016
New installation of Exchange 2016 running on Server 2012 R2. We cannot get Outlook 2016 to connect on both Windows 7 and 8.1. Outlook 2007 and 2010 work without issue. OWA works as well. Autodiscover setup in DNS.
Mail Universal Distribution Group
Greetings Spiceheads,
I noticed that I was not able to edit an Exchange 2010 Distribution group from within the EMC. After doing some research I found myself in the group information tab for the group. I noticed that there were no users in the "managed by" list. I tried to add myself and received the following message:
I'm not the type of person to just hit the button without knowing what I'm getting to, so I wanted to ask if there is anything I need to be aware of before I convert this group to a Universal group. Anyone else have experience with this?
All help is appreciated.
Darrell
The Active Server Could not be found (Exchange 2010)
Hi Everyone!
I'm getting the following error when I try to do anything in EMS or EMC in Exchange 2010 (that is running on an SBS 2011 server).
The Active Server for database Mailbox Database 2011052717 could not be found.
I'm not sure where to go for this one and the great Google God is failing me. Anyone ever run up against this before?
Thanks,
Mark
Wanted to clear up Exchange Federation Trust
It seems the simplest way to accomplish this is with Microsoft Federation Gateway, but is it the only way? If we have connectivity and even a two way trust between two Exchange Organizations, can we simply setup an Organization Relationship to share Free/Busy information? Is using ADFS an alternative. The main reason I ask is we're PCI compliant and they're may be reluctance to use something in the cloud like MFG.
Exchange 2013 - can't migrate folders - can't find server
I am completing an inter-forest migration of Exchange 2013 (from a .local domain to a .org domain). I was unable to get the 2 Exchange servers to see each other, so migrated users' mailboxes via pst export/import. Now I am trying to move the Public Folders using this procedure: https://supertekboy.com/2016/03/09/exchange-2016-public-folder-migration-made-easy/
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : NamedParameterNotFound,Get-PublicFolder
+ PSComputerName : servername.domainname.local.

What do you use to sync contacts in your company?
Hello all!
Recently at my company we were using exchange 2010 on a Serve 2008 R2 platform. To push company contacts to the employee phones, I would use the Public Folder list to copy and paste into their Outlook. Once it got inside their Outlook, it would sync with the Exchange Server and then push the contact info to their phones. In order to do updates, the entire process had to be repeated manually; nothing was automated. Now that we've migrated to Exchange Server 2013 and Server 2012 R2, the Public Folder has been disabled, so scratch out my whole old process. Instead, we are copy and pasting from the GAL which works, but it's still manual. Anybody have any luck setting up an automated process that automatically pushes the changes in Active Directory to the end-user's smartphone?
Exchange 2013 CU 12 error
Hello,
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the following error when trying to execute the Exchange 2013 CU 12 update. All prerequisite checks go fine and the server is up to date. However when attempting to actually run the install, we receive this error:

Exchange 2016 cannot send or receive external emails
Server 2012 R2 hosting Exchange 2016. All mail users cannot send or receive emails externally. Internal emails are working just fine. This was working fine up until this morning. So far we have tried restarting the server, restarting transport services, verified Send and Receive connectors are configured correctly, and turned off Windows Firewall.
MX records are correct
