Some users can not connect to public folders

$

Hello all. We have a single on premises Exchange 2013 environment with our primary server hosting CAS, the main user mailboxes, and public folders. I have a second mailbox server that just houses the in-place archive email for users. I have a few users on Outlook 2013 and 2016 that get the following error when trying to access public folders: "Cannot expand the folder. Network problems are preventing connection to Microsoft Exchange". These users can see shared mailboxes, and are otherwise connected their mailboxes on Exchange with no errors. How would you troubleshoot this, or have you seen and fixed this issue before?

I just added an alias to my exchange account, is there a way to have the server or Outlook mark or somehow callout that the e-mail was received under the alias?

Enterprise Vault - Exchange 2010 DAG - Multiple Exchange Targets

Hi there,

I'm after some advice and guidance with regards to Symantec Enterprise Vault in our Exchange 2010 DAG environment.

We had this configured by a consultant years ago and I've always thought it was a little backward. We have two Exchange 2010 Mailbox servers, MBX1 & MBX2, and we're running EV v9.0.2. EV is configured with an Exchange Target pointing at MBX1, but doesn't reference MBX2 at all. What that means is that if any Mailbox Databases are mounted on MBX2 rather than MBX1 then EV is unable to process the mailboxes for archiving. As a result we tend to leave all Mailbox Databases mounted on MBX1.

As the company has grown we're now seeing performance issues with all mailboxes mounted on the one server, and I'd like to spread the load by mounting Mailboxes Databases across both MBX servers, with passive copies seeding back to...

Exchange 2013 Relay Connector Modification

Ok...as a background orientation, with the help of a contractor, I have completed a migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013. All is well except a relay connector from a service that our warehouse uses to send invoices. I have set all the rules up with our security devices, configure address targets and NAT rules, set up the relay connector exactly as it was in the 2007 server, and have verified that they can send correspondence through our exchange 2013 server. The issues is that for some reason only five at a time can go through. I'm looking for a means to find and alter what ever configuration is limiting the relay connector. Mind you, the exchange2013platform is a pain to navigate and my exchange powershell skills are not where they should be, considering that Iam not an exchange guyto begin with. Here are some errors logsthat I have...

Arbitration mailbox problems decommissioning Exchange 2010 on-premise

So we've made the decision to decommission our on-premise Exchange server and we're having some issues with the arbitration mailbox. A little background...we are 100% migrated to Office 365 (cutover migration) and all local mailboxes have been disabled (sitting in "disconnected mailbox"). We are using Azure DirSync to sync users between local AD and Office 365. I'm trying to remove the hidden arbitration mailbox and If I run this:

Get-Mailbox –Arbitration | Remove-Mailbox -Arbitration -RemoveLastArbitrationMailboxAllowed:$True

I get this: Can't remove the arbitration mailbox "nkadd.org/Users/SystemMailbox{1f05a927-c835-4f18-808f-8f6d28970250}" because it's being used for the approval workflow for existing recipients that have either membership restrictions or moderation enabled. You should either disable the approval features on those...

Exchange Tool for Managing up to 100 Different domains without trusts

I have been searching around for a tool (Free or Commercial Fee is ok) to manage exchange 2010 locally while we move to O365 to run reports and to make changes on the user accounts.  Preferability web based.

We need a tool  to be ran locally on our network without any connection to the internet (No Cloud Based Solutions) to manage O365. (I know what i just wrote is contradictory, However we do not have internet and a dedicated connect to our O365.)

I found only one...  ManageEngine ADManagePlus (Which i really like) However i want to see what else is out there.

Please respond if you have experience in this platform.  Thank you for taking the time to help!!!

Exchange 2013 e-Discovery PST download error

We are currently in a hybrid Exchange environment: 2010 on prem hosting only "archive" mailboxes (they're only mailboxes that are journaled to) and a hosted Exchange 2013.

When we run an e-Discovery Search, it typically succeeds without error and we can copy the contents to the Discovery Search Mailbox, however if we try to export a PST of that search, the export process runs as expected up to the point it asks for credentials. Once credentials are supplied, the following error is displayed. Our hosting provider has investigated and found the following error, however upon my own search, I cannot find anything related to this.

Certain cmdlets like New-MailboxExportRequest make the AD call

to find mailboxes using the regular LDAP port 389 instead of the GC port 3268

and thus cannot find mailboxes located in the root...

Calendar delegates on Office 365

Bob is getting Sally's appointments showing up on his calendar. In OWA, it shows Bob has "Full Details" permission to Sally's calendar, but is not listed as a delegate. I also checked the mailbox permissions with Powershell, using the command below, but it does not show Bob at all.

Get-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity sally@domain.com:\Calendar

This is all on Office 365. Is there something else I need to check, or is there something that can only be configured through Outlook and not OWA/Powershell?

Hybrid Exchange setup with O365 and old distribution groups.

I have used my best Google-fu to find the results and have yet to find what I need or an answer that works. Like all of us I have inherited a ton of distribution lists, no idea if any of them are used.

Message tracking is enabled with the on-prem server but getting zero results from ever list I use. I extended the tracking to 90 days and 3GB storage as it was the default before. I can use the message tracking online but takes forever and I don't see a way to run it for all of them in one shot(no way I am running one at a time.

Any thoughts or ideas or better solutions?

Outlook 2010 Help

I've been banging my head trying to get this to work. I'm trying to send an attachment larger than 6MBs and Outlook doesn't allow it. We're on exchange 2010 and I've set the changes to "No Limit", same result. I've added the MaximumAttachmentSize in registry editor, same result. I've uncheck cached exchange, same result. I'm not sure what else can be done. Anything else I should try? I'm sort of at my witts end. thanks!

Setting up point to point TLS Connections between clients (Email)

$

My firm currently has an encryption platform that can be used to encrypt emails that may include confidential information. However, due to the nature of this application, it can be "seen" as inefficient at times.

We have 5-7 organizations that we do a great number of business with and send confidential information back and forth. I wanted to see your opinion on setting up "dedicated' TLS connections between ourselves and the clients.

From my understanding, even though TLS is the first go to (If set up on sending/receiving servers), there is no way to be 100% sure the data itself was encrypted. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Powershell - Exchange: Export mailbox to a password protected .pst

Hello,

I was looking for how to export a mailbox to a .PST file, with a password.

It is possible to it in Outlook client when you export to a .PST.

In PowerShell I have found the cmdlet New-MailboxEportRequest that can export the mailbox to a pst file. But it's like there is nothing to password protect this pst. Do I have miss something on this cmdlet or there is another way to put a password to protect this .pst file?

Thank you for your help!

Slow in some parts of Exchange Admin Center

Hi,

We use Exchange 2013, multi-site mixture of Server 2012 std and R2.

A few of us in the IT department are finding parts of Exchange Admin Center running extremely slow. The two main things are clicking on the 'Groups' option under 'Recipients' - then double clicking one, or when we select a mailbox and then choose the option 'Mailbox Delegation'. It takes around 1 minute for these to populate, sometimes they even time out. Navigating the rest of EAC is nice and responsive.

Two of my colleagues do not suffer from the problem. We are all using Windows 10 Enterprise, and I have checked that we are all members of the same groups and have the same policies. We do not have web proxy enabled.

We have experimented with several browsers - Chrome, IE, Firefox, Maxthon etc but none of them improve the speed.

I am guessing the problem is with...
