We have one user that is having issues with his Outlook 2010. Every few times he launches Outlook it will come up -not responding- then crash. The event log doesn't really show much. But Ive tried everything locally to fix it so now I leaning towards his exchange mailbox being corrupted. We haven't had Exchange 2013 for very long so I don't know much about it. Is there anyway I can check just his mailbox for data corruption? If it is corrupted how would I go about repairing it? Or what would be a better option.
What I've tried so far
-Created a new mail profile locally on his computer
-Turned caching on/off
-Started outlook in safe mode
-Installed all Windows updates
-Had him try outlook from a completely separate computer.
-Rebooted the exchange server
We have site A with microsoft SBS 2011 working fine with exchange server 2010 installed in it. There is also a site B is accessing the above server with VPN. Site A is 192.168.2.0/24 network and site B is 192.168.3.0/24 network.
Now there is canon iR2230 working fine on site A. However, on site B we recently installed same copier machine, it is able to print and fax but it is not able to send emails. By the way, The people working on Site B are able to send and receive emails.
Here what I did after installing the copier machine on site B.
I created new user for copier machine in active directory and then created mailbox in exchange management console. Then I entered all the relevant parameters like username, password, IP address of server in copier machine and it still not able to send emails. I am able to ping the server from the copier...
Is there a way in Exchange 2013 to stop email forwarding on a given date? For example, a user will be out until September 31st and come back on October 1st. Is there a way to stop forwarding on the 31st without me disabling forwarding?
Over the last few weeks there have been 3 major outages (today included).
I have about 100 boxes with them spread out over a few accounts, it would be a huge pain to migrate.
Anyone else having issues and thinking of bailing? Who an excellent hosted email provider that has good tech support people like Rackspace?
So I was finally able to convince my CEO to move to Active Sync and I was able to test it on a new iPhone 6 with my user, as well as with another users.
The new phones came today and for some reason one user is unable to connect get his email and here's the crazy part: no error messages! it simply shows "updated". His entire Outlook tree is there but there are no messages in any of his subfolders including the inbox.
His Active Sync option in Our Exchange 2010 server is enabled.
Mine is working fine, as well as my co-worker .
I tried changing the sync option from no limit to 1 month and then 1 week but still no emails are showing. The only email that does show is the quarantine email that shows that he made a request to our server...
Any idea???
I cant get EMC to open after i restored the entire system from a backup.
This is running Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2008 r2 Enterprise
I've created a Quick Step action for my "Archive" folder in Outlook as a catch-all for mail that doesn't fit in a specific category but I don't want hanging around in my inbox. The available Quick Step hotkeys of "Shift + Ctrl + <1-9>" are cumbersome when archiving lots of messages. Is there a way to assign a simpler hotkey or even create a shortcut button similar to the delete and flag buttons that appear when you mouse over a message?
Exchange 2007:
A user sent an email with a huge attachment to several people. She received a delivery failure with a list for each failed recipient that looks like this:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
"User's Name (email address)
An error occurred while trying to deliver this message to the recipient's e-mail address. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please try resending this message, or provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator."
Then with the following list:

mx3.ess.sfj.cudaops.com #550 permanent failure for one or more recipients (emailaddress 1:552 #5.3.4 message size exceeds limit,emailaddress2:552 #5.3.4 message ...) ##"
However, some of the people who are included in the failure...
Hi, I am in process of migration users from one company to another. We are moving corporate users to Exchange and store users to IMAIL (POP). We added domain from other company to our Exchange environment and when we move users it works fine.
My question is, can I have the same domain hosted on exchange and POP server (example: local.com on exchange and on POP)? Because I need booth store users and corporate users to have the same domain email address and they have to be hosted on different servers.
Thank you.
Hi!
Scenario: New Exchange 2013 replaced SBS 2003 with Exchange and users email boxes were backed up to .pst on the workstations and imported into the new accounts. Autocompletes were also backed-up and imported. The old set-up had an internal domain name different than the external domain with the email accounts being set-up with the external domain and some users’ email alias was different than the username they logged on to the domain with.
Problem: when some old emails are replied to messages are kicked back with the message "Remote Server returned '550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found' and in the body of the "Diagnostic information for administrators" there are entries with the old Exchange server name and even email addresses that have never been set-up. Any ideas?
Hi All,
I have a setup whereby there are 2 mounted DBs, one for ex employees (on server1) and the other for active employees (on server2). My problem is that after I do a local move request of an account from the active DB to the archived DB, the account still shows under the active DB when I run a script through EMS to show mailbox sizes on the active DB. However, on the EMC, it shows that the account has moved to the new DB.
Script for itemsize:
Get-MailboxStatistics -Server 'MAILSVR2' | Select DisplayName, TotalItemSize, Database | Sort-Object
TotalItemSize -Descending | Export-CSV F:\aug2015.csv
Can anyone please explain why this is happening?
Thanks
Hi,
tried updating Exchange 2013 to CU3 last night but it failed on step 14 "Couldn't resolve the user or group "domain/Microsoft Exchange Security Groups/Discovery Management." If the user or group is a foreign forest principal, you must have either a two-way trust or an outgoing trust."
It was late at this stage, so I took it back out of maintenance mode and said I would retry it tonight.
Now, I seem to be stuck in a bit of limbo, it appears from checking the version number that it has in fact updated to CU3, but my ECP and OWA are broken, plus my RPC path keeps trying to change to "Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\rpc". when this changes none of the outlook clients can connect. When I change this back to "Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\RpcProxy" they can connect ok. But I keep having to reset this.
I cannot access either ECP or...
I am not sure if this is the right place for such query but i am looking for Exchange shell command which can export the following details in csv format per database -
Display name, ItemCount, LastLoggedOnUserAccount, ObjectClass, TotalItemSize, ServerName and DatabaseName and PrimarySmtpAddress.
I have been trying several command combination but every time I just don't get smtp address field in CSV file.
If i remove PrimarySMTPAddress then i do get all the details but i need to have SMTPaddress as well in the same command.
This is the command i am trying but unable to get the details.
Get-MailboxDatabase "DB Name"| Get-Mailboxstatistics | Sort totalitemsize -desc | select-object identity,lastlogontime,lastlogofftime,DisplayName,PrimarySmtpAddress | Export-CSV c:\data.csv
Does anyone have shell command which can help get the desired result...
Recently we have decided to delegate distribution group management to specific end users. When we did this we noticed that the members listed in the group through Outlook do not display all users that are members of the group. When we look in Active Directory we see the correct members. When we send an email to the group in question, all of the users receive the email. This is not really a problem with the functionality but with the management from the user end. Has anyone seen this problem before?
Hi All,
I've hit an issue when loading an exchange account onto a local admin account. The user in question is on the domain, but, as they dont work full time for the company would prefer to use their local account to save certain things. No problem with me, i've set up an exchange account in Outlook before for consultatnts without issue.
However, this is now causing an issue! When setting up the account i specify the correct details for server, user name etc. but the windo just hangs. I know that the credentials are correct, as i've configred the account on the users phone. I know that there is no issue with the excahnge as when i sign into the same machine, with the users domain account Outlook resolves without issue to the server, and opens the inbox.
The question is, why doesn't Outlook connect to the exchange when using local...
I'm in the process of configuring an exchange server and I've encountered a problem where it's not accepting emails from external domains.
I can email internally and I can email outbound from the OWA, however if I try to email from (say) Gmail, it doesn't appear.
It doesn't, however, give me a bounceback error at Gmail.
I think I've configured the MX/A records correctly for DNS and my ISP confirmed they can telnet using the appropriate information.
I do get an error from mxtoolbox that 'Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner' but I've read that it's not important for that to 'match'?
Any ideas?
So here's an odd one;
We've got a client who has to send a lot of similar emails to clients of thier own with reports and the like. They tend to prepare the emails as drafts, save them as .msg files on the network where another user checks them over then send them all.
Whats happening is these emails are arriving at their destination blank, stripped of all content. I know its not a general mail issue since I can get the same user to send me an email fine. The headers appear fine and don't show anything untoward but if I check the users sent items, I can see the content has been stripped, so its occurring between when they hit send and it being sent (or going to thier inbox).
We use hosted exchange platform so its outlook 2013 using RPC/HTTP, cahced exchange mode and Exchange 2013.
Anyone have any immediate thoughts? At first I though it...
