I got called on a job to help a non profit that lost their DC. It was a single DC and they had no backups. We created a new DC/domain (Win2K3) and installed a fresh version of Exchange 2003. recreated all the user accounts and mail box's. I have the Exchange DB from their old Exchange Box and have created a recover storage group and moved the DB files into that recovery folder. The DB is in a clean state.
When I run EXMERGE.EXE it shows me that the recovery storage group exists but when I select it and try to load the list of mailboxes, it fails. The EXMERGE.EXE log file indicates an LDAP error. I have given the account I am running under full send and receive access to the recovery storage group. but that didn't resolve the issue.
Any ideas on how to get access to these mailboxes?
