Windows XP, Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003.
PC rebooted for unknown reasons. When it came back up Outlook wouldn't run - after clicking the icon it would try to start (splash screen) then go away. Next time it would ask for Safe Mode, then Repair. Nothing worked. I logged in as another user and Outlook opened without issue.
I renamed the user folder and logged back in, which of course, created a new one. Outlook did the same thing. Very odd. It didn't even get to the point of asking me if I wanted to setup and email account. Ran it again, said no to Safe Mode and it asked about an account. After I said yes and clicked on Exchange it closed itself.
I went to another PC (also XP) and logged in as that user. Outlook did the same thing.
Thankfully OWA is working so he can get to his email.
Just heard from others getting back from lunch - same thing. PCs rebooted, Outlook not working. So apparently this isn't a user issue at all. But it isn't everyone.
Arg!
