Hello: We recently wanted to delete any email over 30 days old for a small subset of our users. The only folders we wanted to enforce the policy on were Inbox, Sent, and Deleted. Once this was enabled, we found that the policy was running on subfolder of the three intended folders as well, which is not what we wanted. We then had to start a manual restore process of items the users intended to keep.
So, when we attempt to enforce this policy again, should we use retention tags, or push group policy out to Outlook using Active Directory to gain more granular control?
