Exchange Active Sync

I faced the following error:

The average of the most recent heartbeat intervals [180] for request [ping] used by clients is less than or equal to [540].
Make sure that your firewall configuration is set to work correctly with Exchange ActiveSync and Direct Push technology. Specifically, make sure that
your firewall is configured so that requests to Exchange ActiveSync do not expire before they have the opportunity to be processed.

Add O365 email to onsite Exchange

Hi All,

A bit of strange one that has us stumped on a solution.

We're running Exchange & O365 in hybrid mode. We have mailbox created in 365 that needs to send to a group that has been created onsite in AD.

We want to maintain a "safe senders" list on this group, but we can't figure out how to add an external mailbox as a trusted user to this group, with said mailbox not existing onsite.

Has anybody figured out how to do this and, if so, how?

Email deleted from Inbox goes directly to Archive folder

I have one user that, when emails are deleted from the Inbox are going directly to her Archive folder instead of Deleted Items. I looked and do not see any rules that might be causing this. I've also checked for Auto-archive settings and it is not activated (greyed out). This is where I was expecting to see something. I'm at a loss to explain why this is happening. She is a newer user, so I figured she "played with" her settings and caused this, but I just cannot seem to find what she did. Any ideas where else I can look to see why this is happening?

Exchange 2016 - Logon failure three times daily

Hi,

Have a weird ongoing issue that I'd like to bottom out, we get a logon failure three times every day at the following times.

  • 05:00
  • 13:00
  • 21:00

It looks to be an internal process firing from a local service trying to use the nobody security identifier, hoping someone can shed some light on Exchange processes that runs onthat schedule out of the box?

Thanks

GD

Exchange 2013 to Office 365 migration - which method?

$

Hello,

I've reached the point where I want to retire our Exchange 2013 on-premise Exchange server and go with Exchange Online.

It's a single Exchange 2013 server with about 50 mailboxes, a few mail enabled groups and no public folders. I also have two extra domains but they each only have about 3 mailboxes associated with it.

I'm kind of confused about which migration method to use. Two different Microsoft websites recommend either Cutover or Minimal Hybrid.

At the end, I do not want my on-premise Exchange server and want to pull the plug on it!

The Minimal Hybrid looks pretty easy to do.

Any thoughts?

Outlook keeps asking for password after migration from exchange to office 365.

We have a hybrid connection between our exchange 2013 environment and office 365. Users are using Outlook 2013 to connect to exchange. I've migrated a couple of test mailboxes to Office 365 to test the migration process. The migration succeeds and it looks like Outlook is able to auto reconfigure to connect to office 365 but Outlook will constantly ask for the password and will not accept any password.

Outlook is even connected and working. I can send and receive mail. Any time I attempt to perform any action like starting a new email message I will be asked for the password again. All I can do is click cancel on the password prompt and them I'm able to continue.

If I create a new mail profile then Outlook will ask for the password once as normal, and then everything works fine. I would like to not have to create new mail profiles for...

How much does database grow when circular logging is enabled to commit logs?

Hello!

I picked up a new client recently and they have SBS 2011 with Exchange databases on multiple drives. They have a 100GB drive with a 22GB EDB, and its 117GB of logs are on another drive that is nearly full.

Due to the logs' size, I cannot move them using EMC, so I want to enable circular logging temporarily to force them to commit to the database.

My question is, how much does database grow when circular logging is enabled to commit logs? Will the 22GB database get 117GB added to it? If so, I cannot do that on a 100GB drive!

Email is being migrated to Office 365 in a few days.

New exchange/office 365 hybrid. Migrated users cannot receive mail.

We've just started an exchange hybrid connection to Office 365. I ran the hybrid configuration to establish the connection and I've been able to move a couple of test mailboxes to Office 365.

The migrated account can send mail but does not receive mail from on premises accounts.

I can see the messages that were sent to the migrated mailbox sitting in the mail queue on the exchange server but they aren't getting sent to office 365. The last error shown on the mail queue says "451 4.4.0 DNS query failed." I've checked the mx record associated with the domain in the outbound to office 365 connector and it does resolve to an ip.

The hybrid configurator automatically created the outbound connector to Office 365.

Why doesn't my mail work?

Hi All,

We have a number of shared mailboxes for various departments, I have tried to add a mail enabled security group, Example: Market Research mailbox and then i have the group Market_Research_Shared
I would like to do it this way because people are always moving departments and if they do instead editing the delegates in the mailbox i would like to remove them from that group.

But when i try adding the group to the mailbox it does not auto show in outlook.

Am i doing something wrong?

Any Advice would be brilliant

Thank you,

So I have tried the usual rename the Queue folder and let it be recreated. I have also tried removing the email from the user's sent items. I have already contacted Microsoft, but they are telling me it may be a week before they have any available engineers to look at this. I am not that great with Power shell so any and all help is appreciated.

i have installed DC 2019 and Exchange 2019 both servers on premises

i have used eval copy (stupid thing to do) and i was able to activate the desktop version but not the core (where my exchange server is installed)

i have only created the mailboxes but didnt use the mail server yet (still using 2010) and the database is still empty

but i dont want to lose the DC with all the setup

my question is..if i install a new fresh exchange serve is it easy to add it back to the current DC? do i have to recreate the exchange schema? do i have to remove the current exchange ?

is it a good idea to do so?

please advise

Choose which database when using New-MailboxExportRequest to expot to PST

Hello!

I finally researched enough to get the New-MailboxExportRequest to export to PST for a test user on SBS 2011 with Exchange 2010 SP3.

However, n spite of hours of digging, I cannot figure out how to choose the database from which the export will take place. There are seven users with Exchange Archive in addition to the normal database, and I want to export only the archive database to PST for each of them.

How can I target the New-MailboxExportRequest to export only from the archive database?

Exchange Online SMTP Error 550 5.4.1

Hey guys,

We've recently made the move over to a hybrid deployment of Office365, with only AD left to move over to make a complete cloud deployment.

We have been getting reports that external emails sending to our domain (multinail.com) are getting the bounce message:

550 5.4.1 All recipient addresses rejected : Access denied. AS(201806271) [SY3AUS01FT014.eop-AUS01.prod.protection.outlook.com]
We can't seem to figure out why this is happening as of yet, so anyone with a similar experience or any suggestions, a comment would be much appreciated.

Originally we assumed it was our mx records (as they were incorrect), so we changed them to the correct records, and the problem is still there. Next on the list was our external spam filter, which we have completely disabled, and we are still getting the same bounce.

We are in the process of...
