Move a Public Folder Database to different drive?

I need to move a Public Folder Database to a different SAN, still connected to the same non-DAG standalone Exchange 2010 server.

Is this as simple as dismounting the database and setting a new path?

I have three Exchange 2013 servers where emails are getting stuck/slow to process in the shadow redundancy queue. Any ideas on what can cause this and how to fix it?

Hello, Everyone-

I have a customer that recently merged in a sister company from their parent organization. In other words, Company A (sister company) was a member of Exchange Org 1 (Exchange 2013) owned/managed by the parent company. Company B (my customer) has their own Exchange Org 2 (Exchange 2010) that we manage. Company A was merged into Exchange Org 2.

Company A mailboxes were exported by the parent organization's IT department using Outlook to password-protected PST files (instead of using Exchange New-MailboxExportRequest - don't get me started...). I then imported the mailboxes into each user's mailbox using Outlook because Exchange Server New-MailboxImportRequest doesn't support password-protected PST files.

Sent emails in Outlook 2013 get stuck in OWA's outbox

Howdy all

A bit of a peculiar problem.

We have an SBS 2011 server with Exchange 2010 ver. 14.03

The user affected has Outlook 2013 with cached mode enabled running on Windows 7.

Now, the emails in the sent items from the last 2 weeks randomly disappeared. After a frustrating few days, strangely found they were all stuck in the OWA outbox, they didn’t appear in Outlook’s outbox however, even after disabling cached mode.

While Outlook had cached mode disabled I was able to move all the emails from the Outbox of OWA to the sent items and they appeared okay,

However, the moment I re-enabled cached mode and the user started sending emails out again, it started doing the same thing and not showing emails in the sent items, but in the outbox of OWA!

I’ve confirmed the emails do indeed send and after moving the emails from OWA's outbox and...

'Whitelist' a domain to all distro groups only

I need a rule / exchange online tweak that will:

  1. Whitelist a domain for our org to receive incoming emails from it, this should be applied to distribution lists only, (not to be applied to user's mailboxes)
  2. Should block other emails if domain is not whitelisted.

Adding that domain in o365 portal is not possible as we do not own it. I'm thinking of 2 ways:

A. Creating a rule. First, I created a distribution group that will serve as a place holder of all the distros. All distribution groups are added on that distribution group named: "AllDLsPlaceHolder", and the rule looks like below:

However, that rule affects all the mailboxes (user, distros, and shared mailboxes)

B. Whitelisting the IP on connection filter in o365 - not sure how to config this one, as that domain to be whitelisted is on exchange online too. As per my research, exchange...

Send on Behalf not working for Outlook2013 and hybrid Office365 cloud mail serve

Hi,

i am having issue with send and Send As and Send on behalf. user opt both Send As and Send on Behalf

now my issue here is user wants to opt Send on behalf but when i try to remove them in O365 Send As just permit them in Send on behalf my they have this issue.

            This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user. Error is [0x80070005-0x0004dc-0x000524].

Exchange 2013 cu15 (from Windows 10 April Update), PowerShell ver. 5.1.17134.112

just came back from vacation and found that i cannot do remote connection to my Exchange Servers.

i used to issue this command:

Exchange 2010->2016 MIgration-Outlook Anywhere, how to rolback if problems found

Hi

We are undertaking a 2010-2016 migration and currently using RPC/HTTP for Outlook client connections. Prior to installing 2016 we have been advised to swtich to using Outlook Anywhere for the clients, however we've seen a few horror stories on forums regarding Outlook clients constantly prompting for credentials after this change is made.

We intend to run Set-OutlookProvider EXCH -OutlookProviderFlags:ServerExclusiveConnect and Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -OutlookProviderFlags:ServerExclusiveConnect on the 2010 servers.

At the moment ruinning Get-OutlookProvider | fl OutlookProviderFlags gives us the following output-

OutlookProviderFlags : None

OutlookProviderFlags : None

OutlookProviderFlags : None

The question is how do we revert back to our original settings if we do encounter problems? Is it quickest/easiest to delete the EXPR and EXCH...

If I have the anti-malware feature enabled on Exchange 2013, can I whitelist certain sites based on IP address to allow any e-mail with any kind of attachment to go through?

We have users who save everything regarding the products we create but much of it is 8 to 10 years old. Of course they are complaining that email is slow but what do you expect from a 48GB OST. There is legit data that needs to be preserved but it needs to be outside of Outlook where others can get to it.

Errors when running FPDIAG on Exchange 2016

I noticed today several entries in event viewer on our exchange server that read " A fatal alert was received from the remote endpoint. The TLS protocol defined fatal alert code is 49". One of the articles I looked up on this error suggested running fpsdiag.exe to return information that could help me determine what's going on. When I ran fpsdaig.exe, I received the following error: "The type initializer for 'GlobalConfig.ProductInfo' threw an exception." I've looked all over Google and Microsoft but I can't find any reference to this error. Would any of you possibly know what I need to do to correct whatever is causing this error?

Configure Exchange Resources so AD Security Group exempt from delegate approval

I have a meeting room configured with delegate approval.  The front office wants to exempt a group of staff from delegate approval of their reservations in this meeting room.  All other staff must have the approval of the rooms delegates.  Is there a way to accomplish this so the delegates do not receive approval requests from the exempt group.  FYI, the exempt group of staff is already an AD security group.

Unable to copy message from Mailbox to PST

Since upgrading our Exchange server from 2010 to 2013 we are experiencing an issue where we cannot move certain messages from the users' mailboxes to a pst for retention. When they try, they get the error, "The item cannot be moved. It was either already moved or deleted or access was denied."

We have tried the normal answers - repair the PST, try another pst, delete the email and then move it from the deleted items folder, delete and add the profile, check the registry for pstdisablegrow (it wasn't there), click off of the email and then try to move it, and create a PST file on the local C: drive instead of a network share, but nothing has worked except to forward the email (which then changes the headers from the original sender to the new sender). how to prevent members to stop receiving group message. Exchange online

In Exchange online, any emails sent to a Office 365 group is appended this text:

"To stop receiving messages from ****e group, stop following it"

When members click "stop following it". Then the member doesn't receive emails.

My question is: how to disable this appended text. Or how to make members be not able to stop receiving emails.

office 365 crashes

HI

we have exchange 2010 hybrid environment. some user still got outlook 2016 connected to exchange 2010 and some users are on exchange online. 

so when users office 365 try to send email to a particular email address outlook 2016 crash, but the user still in on premises exchange server can send the email to same destination address and it will not crash outlook. 

please any advise ?? any one out there having the same issue ??? 

is this could be autodiscover issues??? or DNS ?? i am amateur when it come to office 365 so any advise highly appreciate.

Hello fellow Spiceheads and Happy FIFA 2018!!

Been fighting with a small issue but one my CAO wants me to find an answer for. He has send-as and full access permissions on another mailbox - that part is easy - and there are no issues with him sending email out as this other mailbox. What he wants tho is for any sent items using that send-as account to NOT show up in his own sent items.

Note - we're running Exchange 2010 at the latest service pack and roll up - just wrapped up server patching last night.

I've reviewed settings in OWA in the send-as account and verified that Sent Items is set to From mailbox yet during my testing using the admin account which has the same account access permissions, even with Sender and From mailboxes NOT chosen, I see copies of the sent message in both mailboxes.

I'm renewing the SSL certificate from Godaddy on Exchange 2016. It's asking "Do you want to enforce SSL communication on the root web site? If not, rerun the cmdlet with the -DoNotRequireSSL parameter".

I'm going to answer "No". However, I don't know the cmdlet command for that -DoNotRequiredSSL. Googled it but came up nothing.

Unable to receive inbound email from one organization w/ O365 and Barracuda

Hello Spiceheads, I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on an issue I've been running up against for a few weeks. Internally we are using Exchange 2010 CU21 on a Server 2012 R2 box behind a watchguard firewall. We subscribe to the Watchguard antispam module, however I have disabled this at various times when troubleshooting this issue and it doesnt appear to be the cause. All mail flow seems to be working as intended EXCEPT one of our clients is reporting they receive an NDR when attempting to send to us. They can receive our outbound messages just fine. The client in question is using O365 and has services through Barracuda. I have reached out to Barracuda twice and had awful experiences with their tier 1's effectively saying "well my ticket queue is normal so we're not having any service issues, must be on you, figure it out."...
