Some users unable to download attachments in gmail app - staying on 0%

Hi,

Recently some of my mail users have reported that they no longer can download attachment from mails in the gmail app on android phones and this is only the case with their Exchange mail and not their private gmail account.

The problem don't seem to be on every phone, both my boss an my coworkers am able to download them with no issues - the main differance between us and those with the issue is that their phones are a bit older. e.g Samsuns S8 vs S6.

The only new change I have made to out exchange is opping the MaxDocumentDataSize to 30MB and the maxRequestLength to 30MB in the web.config in \Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Sync - i suspect this might be the issue, but why? Is there some phones that can't handle these higher data sizes?

As a side note, we run a Exchange Server 2007 (Yes i know this needs to change, we are close to moving...

Exchange 2013 - Undelivered message to internal recipient

Recently i have had a few users getting bounce back messages when sending from Outlook to other internal users. Below is the message:

This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. Unknown Error. Error is [0x80040401-0x80040401-0x0003ee].

This does not occur all the time, the user can try again and the message is sent and received properly. It is happening from different users and to different users.

I am not sure where to begin with this one. I have made sure the sender is not using an entry in their NK2 file but actually selection the user from Global Address Book but again get the same mixed results.

Any help if tracking this down would be greatly appreciated.

Background:

2 Exchange 2013 servers both VM boxes.

Exchange Online (office 365) no SPF records?

Hello,

I manage two Exchange Online tenancies and I noticed something today which struck me as odd.

When sending messages from mailboxes in either of these tenancies from domains which have valid TXT records for SPF, to completely unrelated mailboxes not hosted on Exchange Online, the received email headers suggest that the SPF records are non existant:

received-spf: None (protection.outlook.com: domain.co.uk does not designate permitted sender hosts)

authentication-results: spf=none (sender IP is ) smtp.mailfrom=admin@domain.co.uk;

I have checked the TXT SPF records for the domains in question on mxtoolbox.com and they are both valid.

Has anyone else seen this? It does not seem to be having any adverse effect, but it just struck me as odd.

Could it just be the receiving server is not checking the SPF record?

Update Exchange cert, thumbprint exists

I have a UCC/SAN cert from GoDaddy for my Exchange 2016 server.  I went into my GoDaddy management console for the cert and added another domain to the cert.  That was approved and I downloaded the updated cert zip.  I got confused about what to do next, so I initiated a "renew" of the current cert on Exchange through the ECP, which generated a new CSR that I just put aside and ignored.  Then I "completed" the renew and chose the newly downloaded cert.  That failed, however, saying a cert with the same thumbprint already exists.  Refreshing the ECP on Exchange didn't show anything different, and I was left with one "valid" cert and one "pending" cert.

What did I do wrong?  What is the proper procedure for renewing/updating an existing cert for Exchange 2016?

Is it safe to restart the exchange server if i moved the transaction logs to another drive temporarily because of hard drive space issue and failed backup?

outlook 2016 not forwarding attachments - but it is click to run version

so I am having the issue with outlook 2016 not forwarding the attachments when you forward a plain text email, which is attributed to update  KB4011626 from what I see on SW forums.

however, I am running a click to run version of Outlook 2016, which means that update does not apply, and sure enough, that update is not installed on the system.

has anyone else seen this on the click to run version of office 2016, or know of another patch that is causing it?

Gmail Syncing in Outlook 2016 Issue

Hello,

I'm currently having issues syncing a standard Gmail account in Outlook 2016. The account gets added using the automated setup process and all the folders for the account show up and the main inbox populates emails but it doesn't sync the sub folders and it gets hung up stating that the inbox is still syncing when I know it's up to date.
just shows "syncronizing 'inbox'" and a striped progress bar that keeps looping
I have tried the follow:
deleted profile and re-added
set time out to 10min
set the root folder path to only point to /inbox
set sync to only go back as far as 1, 3, 6 months
ran repair on account
created a new Windows profile and tried to sync
verified gmail is setup for IMAP
told outlook to unsubscribe to all sub folders
enabled less secure apps
repaired Office 2016

Exchange 2007 outbound mail stuck in queue

I rebooted my Exchange 2007 server earlier today and was just informed outbound mail is apparently not getting to recipients.

Found 150 messages stuck in the queue...

I thought I had this happen before and there was a way to click on something and say "send messages" or something....

Migrating Public Folders from Exchange 2007 to 2013

I have read multiple articles on the topic and have run the scripts. We currently have about 800 Public Folders on Exchange 2007. I would like to manually create my Folder to Mailbox file rather than using the mapping provided by running the script. I need to break up our existing Public Folders into a more logical grouping rather than one based on size.

What I would like to do is create a total of 6 Public Folder Mailboxes. A couple of the articles indicated that the hierarchy mailbox should not have any content, so if that is the case I would need 7 Mailboxes. Then I would like to migrate our existing Public Folders to these mailboxes in batches based on the mailbox it would go to.

The Export-PublicFolderStatistics.ps1 script produces a .csv with all of my existing Public Folders. Can I take that output and add the "Mailbox Name" to...

Hello Guys.

I create a lab environment for test purpose in my PC.
I have a Domain controller and an exchange end some PC, to simulate my original infrastructure (normally my infrastructure is bigger :D). Now my company grew and need e new domain controller that is not part of my domain. I create a new dc and make it part of the forest and create trust relation throw the active directory. My problem is with the Ms exchange 2010.

When i create new user in the second domain and try to create mailbox in my exchange there is a error appear that not allow me to create mail box for user of the second dc.

I was wrong somewhere but I did not understand where.
Can someone help me.

Exchange 2016 and Autodiscover

We are a small manage service provider. We have exchange 2016 installed in a split dns setup.

One domain for internal and external.

The exchange will host many domains for different customers.

Autodiscover searches for a autodiscover record based on AD joined domain. But as we are using external domain for internal it wont find it and autofill all details.
To autofill all outlook details is it best not to use split dns and use AD domain name for internal.

Also autodiscover is supposed to use email address to autofill details externally. Even though we have configured external domain this will be different domain to email their using. Whats the best way to setup external dns for the different domains and autodiscover.

Exchange 2016 AntiSpam rules have caused transport service to constantly restart

Hi,

I recently installed Exchange 2016 CU8 after trying to clear some PCI Compliance failures. That in turn stopped the Spam rules that were previously set and routed spam mail to a Quarantine mailbox. In trying to get things working, one of my Exchange servers went into a loop of restarting the Microsoft Exchange Transport Delivery Service and no mail was able to be delivered to the users.

I moved all the users mailboxes to another server and went about trying to fix the quarantine mailbox issue. I foundhttp://www.exchangeinbox.com/article.aspx?i=217 which shows the issue with the ps1 script in CU8 and removed the section to allow that script to work. I tried this on one server and all completed fine, tried it on the server with the two servers mailboxes on and that server has descended into the same service restarting.

Outlook prompts for password after DNS/certificate change.

Hey Guys,

Just a quick one. So I have exchange 2010 and I used to use a self signed cert.

I have now changed to proper SSL and of course the Internal and External URLs changed for all exchange services. I added the autodiscover DNS to our local DNS. All worked well except some of our users got the pop-up that the certificate isn't the same name as the certificate.

This was because the old DNS was still pointing to exchange and if a machine picked up old DNS, the pop-up occured.

To solve this i simply need to delete the old DNS record, however, when I do that, it now prompts for password everytime you open outlook. After putting it in numerous times (closing and opening outlook) it eventually goes away but I would prefer a more discreet way of fixing this issue so that users don't get affected.

Hello, I'm looking for CodeTwo alternatives.

The need is for solution that will auto-reply to every email (for specific recipients) with simple text and original mail attached + bcc to our email.

~2k daily emails with bursts to 5k near the end of month.

It needs to work on casarray and currently support exchange 2010. It must have support for right-to-left languages and logging/reporting features.

So far I found Exclaimer and MSH. Any other solutions? 

G suite to office 365 migration

Hi Everyone, 

I have a client with 9 staff who are ready to move from their current G suite to office 365 enterprise. Most of the mailboxes are not too much of an issue, however 2 of them are 70 GB in size. My issue is the daily limit of 2500mb per day with transfer that Google seem to have applied to these g suite accounts. Has anyone had any experience with doing this , is there a way around the limit or any services that people recommend to bypass it somehow?

Exchange Second Site - Crappy Lines?

Hi everyone,

We're using Exchange on prem at site A and a hosted POP mail solution at site B.  We have an OpenVPN tunnel between the two for AD replication etc.  Files are kept locally at each site and they have their own backups.  It's solid, but slow.

We're looking to bring site B online with a second Exchange server.  I get that I can just add the server and create the mailboxes for site B but I'll effectively be adding an extra hop in there as the MX will point all mail to site A, which will then have to route the mail to site B.

Is there simple way to avoid this?  Both sites have a roughly equal number of users and both have very slow connections.  I fear that by adding site B's mail flow to site A's bandwidth, I'll choke up site A.

How can I allow a user to send mail from an address without mailbox in Exchange

I have an application that needs to send external e-mails from our Exchange 2016 Server using the "Client Frontend" receive connector.

This works when I give the credentials from a user with an existing mailbox. I now want to create a "service user" to send e-mail from a noreply@domain.com address without having to create a mailbox for noreply@domain.com.

How do I give this user the rights to send e-mails?

HI 

we got exchange 2010 running with office 365. we havent configured any hyberid exchange. mail box are still on exchange on premises. 
i have change the user account to username@xxxx.co.uk on AD but on office 365 portal it says xxx@xxxx.onmicrosoft .com. so when user send email it is saying invalid email address.

do you know how to change this and why ??

please any help is much appreciate
