Blank Exchange 2003 Database Help - Urgent, Mail is Down

I had our Symantec Backup 'freeze' during nightly.. and it corrupted my Exchange Store.

I cannot mount. I tried soft repair and what not, nadda. Dirty Shutdown.

I am restoring an NTBackup of the Information Store that I have on a USB drive. ( I tried to restore a previous Symantec Backup, and after 12 hours the restore failed and said corrupt backup!)

The new restore has been running for 10 hours and 23 minutes, and of course, it shows NO progress meter. My priv1 database is about 47 GB, and the public is like 12 I think. Any ideas on how long this will take?

Options: I can create a blank database/store to get the company up and running. Can I do that 'during' a restore though?

Second, if I do that, how do I get information back into it once I get a 'successful' restore? (And that successful restore, can it be done to the same Exchange server without overwriting anything?)

Help!
