This is a follow-on to this post. The symptoms are very similar, except that they come and go. It's not all clients, and sometimes by the time we go look at a client it's working again. The fixes on that post didn't work.
Setup: Exchange 2007 on Win2k8. Outlook 2007/2010/2013
Two fixes we've found:
- ipconfig /flushdns
- Run Repair on the Outlook Account
But a fixed client doesn't necessarily stay fixed.
On a broken client, the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration fails. When you browse to https://autodiscover.domain/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml in a browser on a broken client you get a 404 error: "The requested resource (/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml) is not available." And yet if I do an nslookup to autodiscover.domain it comes back with the Exchange server IP address.
What's baffling us particularlyis the random nature of the problem, why it breaks...
