I'm trying to get some information on decommissioning an Exchange server after an Office 365 cutover migration. Once all mailboxes have been synced to Office 365, the DNS records updated and the clients pointed to the cloud we are planning on installing Dirsync for the password sync functionality. We would like to decommission our on-site Exchange server once everything has been tested. Apart from the typical Exchange decommission process is there anything additional required? I've read that we may run into issues editing our cloud users from our local AD if on-site Exchange is removed. Can anyone comment on that?
