I need to move an Exchange 2010 SP3 server over to new hardware. It's the only Exchange server in the domain and contains all roles. It's also setup as a standalone CAS server. It's the only thing installed on the server and will be the same on the new hardware. It has 75 mailboxes on it averaging in size from 100mb to 1GB. The old harware is being retired once Exchange is moved.
What would be the smartest way to move this install to new hardware that would be most transparent to the end users? I have windows outside of 7am-7pm to perform the migration. Vitalization isn't an option with this client. I have read that if a cas array was setup it would be easier but that was never configured. Opinions? I've never moved/migrated Exchange, only set it up from scratch.
