We have built new virtualized infrastructure using AD domain "newdomain.local" New user accounts etc. Previously we ran everything using an SBS2008 box on "old domain.local" Our external SMTP domain remains unchanged at domain.co.uk.
The SBS box is still running as the only machine on olddomain. It still runs the company intranet and Exchange 2007. All user mailboxes remain as per olddomain and will continue to do so.
Long term we will set up a new SharePoint server and possibly a new Exchange server, both on newdomain.local For the time being the only issue it's that mailbox and SharePoint users have to use their old credentials (olddomain\username ) to log in to Exchange and OWA and the intranet.
The SBS box has not been demoted and is still a DC for olddomain but does not run DNS etc
In the meantime it's there any way I can join the SBS...
