I have a weird issue. Just over a week ago we had a complete crash of our Exchange server. To add insult to injury all the backups are corrupted (we switched Exchange server from a SBS2003 machine to 2010 last fall). So after a week of being in recovery mode and converting ost's to pst's to get most mail back, and recreating mailboxes.
Our users all share mailboxes and team members have access to each others mailboxes as well. We are now finding that several mailboxes are displaying as if they are a Public Folder. So rather than showing the user the email address and then the mail tree, it says Public Folders, email address, mail tree.
They can still access the mailboxes, its not that they dont function, but very odd, and to top it off, its not all of them. So there is one user that has 5 additional mailboxes in her profile, of those 5 3 are other users, 2 are shared (general mailbox and a fax mailbox). Of those 5, 2 are showing correctly as we expect them to, and 3 (including the 2 shared boxes) are displaying as Public Folders.
This is the same issue for most users, but not necessarily the same mailboxes (ie the fax mailbox is mounted to more than one user but not on all of them does that box appear this way).
I am at a loss, anyone else seen this and/or know what to do to rectify?
Thanks
Danielle
