HI,
i have a user with more than 177,000 messages in 160 folders in his inbox (5 years emails). the size of the inbox is 11 GB. we have symantec enterprise vault configured for his inbox with 10 GB cache (almost full). our exchange server is located in a remote data center and we are connected through a link of 1MBps shared by 50 users for exchange traffic and some file server traffic.
the user is facing a high latency when reviving emails to his inbox. sometime he receive an email to his mobile mail and then after 2 hours it arrives to his inbox.
i was thinking of creating a PST file and move all the old emails and just leave the new emails in his exchange inbox. but as we have enterprise vault i thought maybe i can increase the cache size and change the archiving rules to include all the old emails. and leave the new email online in his inbox.
enterprise vault is safer because unlike PST it's backed up to the server.
i need an advise, should i go with the enterprise vault option or the normal PST file way.
one more option is to create a replica for the exchange server but this will take time and effort.
