Full disclosure: I am Exchange illiterate. So with that in mind, I've got a 2007 SP1 instance running on a Server 2008 SP1 VM (VMware) and I'd like to upgrade the OS to 08 R2. Is an in place upgrade on a server hosting Exchange as simple as any other application? Are there caveats or considerations I need to take under advisement before upgrading? My Googling skills weren't able to come up with a clear cut answer so I'll gladly listen to any advice given.
