We have a new Marketing Manager who seems like she wants to just throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. Her latest "need" is to use Hubspot (Free) with a connected inbox to send/track email. We are using an on-prem Exchange 2016 server and have some definite concerns about connecting an external party to it to allow this. Am I wrong in having this concern? Is this essentially just setting up a relay to allow our server to send Hubspot email (or do I have that backwards?)?
We are in the process of implementing a full-scale CRM but that is six or so months down the road and this person is being...hmmm...persistant...I'll use that term.
I want to know exactly WHAT this connection to our Exchange server is doing and have been unsuccessful, so far, at finding the technical, behind-the-scenes description of what this connection...
