We have a client that was using Hosted Exchange 2013 and they were recently migrated to Hosted Exchange 2016. The public folder size is 1.4 TB on the Exchange 2013. We couldn't migrate Public Folders of 1.4 TB to Exchange 2016 because of new Microsoft size limitations.
We removed the 1.4 TB of Public Folders and they are now stored on (2), 1TB hard drives. The information in the Public Folders is vital and we must regain access to these folders. The folders were downloaded using .pst files that are all under 50 GB each.
Our 1st idea was to create a local virtual machine, connect the external drives and install Outlook 2016 so that we can open the .pst files in Outlook again. This would allow us to give the users access to this VM when they need to access the Public Folders.
