I just went through an Exchange 2003 -> 2010 migration this week and I am trying to get a handle on how resource mailboxes work in 2010. So far I am very impressed with the improvements made by Microsoft, but there is one thing I was hoping I could change.
My company does not want to use a delegate to monitor resource mailboxes so I have enabled the resource booking attendant for all resources so requests are handled automatically.
If I send a meeting request and include a resource and my preferred time slot for the resource is unavailable I receive a declined message from the resource however the meeting request is still sent to all attendees. Now I have to change the time of the meeting that some or all of the attendees have accepted and resend it so everyone receives the change.
Is it possible to check resource availability first before the meeting request is sent so a change does not have to be sent out after the fact?
