We have one Exchange server, not a DAG. It has only one database. We use Altaro backup on the server and it is not truncating logs.
I have tested out Windows Server backup on the Host server and the Exchange server and both methods truncate logs.
Support have confirmed Altaro should utilize VSS the same way as WSB, but it is not working. They are stumped as their knowledge of Exchange is minimum.
I set the Exchange VSS writer logging to HIGH on the server, but my ESE logs still don't contain 224 or 225 when running a backup. Does anyone know of any other logging I can enable to aid in troubleshooting? Or if there is somewhere else i should be looking other than event logs for the correct logs?
