I was testing out our email archiving system and when I was trying to clear out test emails from the mailboxes I came across this. We do have a single Exchange 2003 environment.
I am having this problem on both my mailbox, and any user I add to my outlook, where when I try to delete a parent folder it gives me the error, "Cannot delete this folder check permissions on this folder. Cannot copy this folder because it may contain private items,"
I double check the permissions to make sure that i have the owner permissions, as well as on exchange set my user to have full control on everyone's mailbox.
The curious thing though is I can delete the sub folders without a problem, then once they are all deleted I can then remove the parent folder. It's by far not the biggest issue in the world, since I can delete them individually, but it can be time consuming, and if it is happening to me, it might be happening to my users, so I want to try to figure this one out., before it does become an issue.
I checked both my outlook and mailbox manager on the server, thinking there might be a setting that was preventing me from doing this, but I could not find one. Is there a setting that I might've overlooked?
If anyone knows or has experienced this issue and how to fix it, I would appreciate the help.
